About The Author... Shannon Jeter Gridley was born in Jacksonville, Florida and grew up on the St. Johns River. After attending Randolf-Macon in Virginia, she graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in English. She later completed her Master's Degree at the University of Central Florida. Shannon has been involved in every aspect of cooking and the creation of cookbooks. As chairman of the Sunsational Cookbook for the Junior League of Orlando, she was introduced to the publishing industry in 1979. She later served as head of the Cookbook Division for one of the top four regional cookbook printers in the U.S. During her time there, she helped design and develop countless cookbooks and calendars for organizations and individuals, including the official cookbook of Walt Disney World. Shannon lives in Winter Park, Florida, with her husband, a circuit court judge. She continues to work as a consultant for special groups and has several projects planned for the coming year. About The Artist... Georgia-Lyon Roark was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and moved to Winter Park in 1952. She began drawing at age 6, and is a self-taught pen and watercolor artist. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in art and later taught art in the Orange County Public Schools system for many years. In recent years, Georgia has pursued her heart's desire of creating art for friends and a growing clientelle. Her pen and ink drawings, paintings, and murals have become well-known throughout Central Florida. For the past three years, she has created and illustrated her own calendar featuring pen and inks of Winter Park landmarks. Georgia lives in Winter Park with her two children, Layton and Lander.
